Professional Learning That Counts

Making Curriculum Make Sense

Practical, classroom-centered professional learning that helps educators strengthen math instruction, deepen content knowledge, and center student thinking—grounded in the standards and brought to life through real classroom practice.

We partner with schools and districts to design meaningful professional learning experiences that are strategic, flexible, and grounded in real classroom practice. Whether you're implementing a new curriculum, strengthening instructional routines, or building teacher capacity, support is tailored to your goals and your students.

Solving the

Unfinished Learning Equation

If your district is working to address unfinished learning, I support educators in designing Tier 2 instruction that is targeted, strategic, and connected to grade-level work. Using targeted assessments, teachers identify what students understand and what they are still developing, allowing support to be responsive and just in time.

Professional learning supports teachers in:

  • Using targeted assessments and student work to identify what students know

  • Deciding what to address in whole group versus small group instruction

  • Connecting unfinished learning to grade-level content

  • Designing targeted, high-impact small group instruction

  • Maintaining rigor while increasing access for all learners

Support options include PLC and extended grade-level meeting structures, identifying and tracking power standards, analyzing student data, collaborative planning, and making informed decisions about technology tools.

Curriculum Implementation Support

Implementing a new curriculum is more than learning the platform—it’s about understanding the mathematics, lesson structure, and instructional shifts that bring it together. When districts adopt problem-based programs like Illustrative Mathematics (IM) or Amplify Desmos Math (ADM), teachers need more than pacing guides or slide decks. They need clarity around the purpose of the work and confidence in how to bring it to life with students.

Support focuses on helping educators make sense of the curriculum—understanding routines, anticipating student thinking, and making intentional decisions during instruction. Rather than teaching from the slides, teachers learn how to use the curriculum to drive meaningful mathematical thinking, discussion, and engagement. Leaders develop a clear vision for implementation and align expectations across classrooms and schools.

Through in-classroom support, including side-by-side coaching and model lessons, along with workshops, unit unpacking, collaborative planning, and PLC support, teachers build the knowledge and confidence to implement with integrity—creating classrooms where the curriculum supports understanding, not just completion.

Ready-to-Go Workshops

If your district is looking for high-quality professional learning that is ready to implement, I offer a range of workshops grounded in research and built for real classroom impact. These sessions go beyond theory—helping teachers engage in meaningful mathematics, strengthen instructional practice, and deepen their understanding of math content in ways that carry into daily instruction and decision-making.

Each workshop is centered on rich tasks and collaborative learning experiences, allowing teachers to step into the role of learners. Through solving, discussing, and analyzing their own thinking, educators build both content knowledge and instructional clarity while making connections to their own classrooms and the students they serve.

Topics include math content, fluency, unpacking standards, data literacy, high-leverage instructional routines, and more. Workshops can be delivered as designed or adapted to align with your district’s goals—ensuring the learning is relevant, immediately actionable, and grounded in real classroom practice over time.

Customized In-District Support

If your district is working toward specific instructional goals, professional learning can be tailored to your context, your teachers, and your students. This approach is strategic, flexible, and grounded in your reality. Whether the focus is strengthening core instruction, building coherence across grade levels, or supporting systemwide shifts, it is designed around your priorities.

Support may include custom-designed workshops, classroom walkthroughs, leader support for vision setting and developing look-for tools, as well as unit unpacking and collaborative planning. Side-by-side coaching and model lessons using district curriculum materials bring this work into the classroom, helping teams connect standards to daily instruction.

This work is designed to create lasting impact—connecting workshops, coaching, and collaborative planning into a cohesive experience rather than separate sessions. Teachers and leaders build shared understanding, strengthen content knowledge, and engage in high-leverage practices—such as the 5 Practices for Orchestrating Productive Mathematics Discussions and ideas from The Math Pact—to support more intentional decision-making.

Workshops & Cohorts

Prefer to step away from the day-to-day and dig into meaningful professional learning with like-minded educators? These sessions—both one-day workshops and multi-day cohorts—are designed to deepen content knowledge, explore student thinking, and support intentional shifts in practice that carry back into the classroom.

Participants engage in rich mathematical tasks, collaborate with peers, and reflect on their own thinking as learners. This experience helps build both clarity and confidence, allowing teachers to make more intentional instructional decisions and strengthen their understanding of the mathematics they teach.

Whether you’re attending individually or with a team, these sessions provide space to slow down, make sense of the mathematics, and connect ideas across lessons, units, and grade levels. Time is intentionally built in for discussion, reflection, and planning so that learning is not only meaningful, but immediately applicable in their own classrooms, with clear connections to daily instruction.
